Happy New Year everyone! We are excited to start the new year with fresh new goals. Today we looked at what SMART goals are and how to create them. We made sure our goals were specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based.
The virtue of the month is empathy. Empathy means putting yourself in another living being's position and considering how you would feel if it were you. Having empathetic skills is an important tool for understanding the way another is feeling. Empathy is the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling. It is looking at a situation from another's perspective. When we practice empathy, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
Important Reminders
- There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, January 10th.
- The spirit day for this month is Fancy Day on Thursday, January 30th. Wear your fancy clothes and practice your fanciest manners. Please don't ask your families to buy new clothes. Be creative and use what you already have.
- The Jugo Juice Fun Lunch is on Thursday, January 23.
- The Grades 5 & 6 learning fair will be held all day on Wednesday, January 30th. Families are welcome to attend from 9:15-10:15 am in the morning and from 1:45-2:30 pm in the afternoon.
The art pieces you see were created by students who were inspired by the literature of Margaret Pokiak.
Have a wonderful evening!
