December 9, 2019
Hi Parents,
Today we worked on our Iroquois Confederacy project. We are working in groups to study different nations (J.S.) (Mohawk, Oneida, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, and Tuscarora). We made wampum belts, a wampum belt is a long belt with different colors each representing a story and a lesson (D.N). A longhouse is a house that has lots of families living in it (6-10) (K.Y).
The peacemaker told all the nations to put their weapons under the tree (F.C). The tree of peace symbolizes peace among the nation. The hawk on top symbolizes that the nations watch out and look for potential enemies. The roots on the bottoms are so that the people of the nations can find their way home. The roots also mean that they are all connected to each other. (F.C).

Have a great day!
