Today in Language Arts, we were working on article writing. We first developed our success criteria by critiquing samples of article writing with a rubric. Our results were very similar to each other. We then identified that tone, sentence structure and content were a very important aspect of article writing. We started our own fictional article writing using a graphic organizer. We are excited to start our article writing and hopefully share it soon!


Today's task met this outcome in Grade 5 and 6 POS

2.4 Create Original Text 

Structure texts

• determine purpose and audience needs to choose forms, and organize ideas and details in oral, print and other media texts
• express the same ideas in different forms and genres; compare and explain the effectiveness of each for audience and purpose
