Practice Work
Hello Parents,
We have started implementing practice work as was requested by the families we serve in our learning community during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will be sending home a practice package monthly. The practice work is due on Friday and returned Monday.
Tips for doing practice with your child
- Reflect with your child on the work they completed, ask them to explain their strategies and ideas
- 20 minutes of practice a night is the right amount of time
- Be mindful and let your child complete the work independently and assist when needed
We would like to encourage parents to do practice work with their child nightly as it establishes routines. Please keep in mind that we do not grade or use homework for in-class grading purposes. We will have students share their writing and math strategies on Friday and have class discussions on the work completed.
